The history of Guardamar in a nutshell

When you look at the location of Guardamar, you see that it borders the mouth of a river. That is why this used to be a very popular place for farmers and fishermen to settle. Valenciano is still spoken in this southern town to this day. This is a dialect based on Catalan. Originally, the residents of Guardamar did not settle near the river, but built their houses within the city walls.
